Our Inspections

Thermal Imaging

When our professional snaggers undergo full snagging surveys, we utilise the latest technology in the industry. As an additional extra, our team can come fully equipped with a thermal imaging camera, either as part of the inspection or as an optional extra.

Thermal imaging camera investigations can help to identify the root cause of a problem in a building. Thermal imaging not only does this quickly and effectively, but it also does not waste time for everyone involved in the process. Building thermography relies on a high contrast between internal and external temperatures to detect insulation defects. The majority of our snagging surveys are conducted during the colder months or after sunset.

aerial photography

All our inspections include aerial photography. So you can see any issues with your new build home’s roof, tiles, guttering, Velux windows, flashings and much more. All of these are included in your report with photographic evidence.

Aerial photography allows you to see the issue’s location or a close-up of any issues. When snags are highlighted, it also provides an image of the associated tolerance. More importantly, it provides clear evidence of the severity of the problem and when it was discovered.

External Works

Our inspectors shall fully inspect your masonry/brickwork to ensure there’s no damage or loose-fitting areas. Defective brickwork can be caused by a variety of factors, including poor workmanship or design, the materials used, and general wear and tear. While brickwork issues aren’t always a major cause for concern, there are a few issues that may necessitate further investigation by a professional, as they may jeopardise the structural stability of your new build home.

Garden / Driveway

During the inspection the team will spend time checking your garden, patio and driveway.

We’ll be checking compliance with building regulations, to ensure all drainage and manhole lids have been fitted correctly. The topography of the outdoor area, that is, the lay of the land is an important component of garden surveys. It is significant because it influences drainage, the placement and design of new features, and the amount of effort required for earthworks.
